Set-out tools: spacing, square and levels

Three quick site tools: even spacing with running marks read out loud, the diagonal to square up a base, and levels from a dumpy.

Balusters: max gap 99 mm so a 100 mm sphere can't pass. Works for pickets, posts, joists and battens too.

How it works

  1. 1Equal spacing: enter the gap between ends, the item width and the most gap allowed.
  2. 2Tap Read out to hear the marks while you keep your hands on the tape.
  3. 3Square it up: both diagonals should match the figure shown.
  4. 4Dumpy level: shoot the benchmark, then each point, to get its level.
